Addition of an upper floor to a single-storey residence

The owner wanted to extend his single-storey home and this led him to build a roof space which was not in keeping with the rest of his home, while leaving insufficient space inside the house. Smartcon's proposal required that the existing roof structure be removed and that a new upper floor be created matching the architectural layout of the ground floor.
The main aim was to ensure that adequate space was provided to meet the owner's needs and to create a uniform whole that blended into harmoniously into the general village surroundings.
